| About room
rates... Room rates in the Disney World area can change daily. They are also very dependent upon the season - and not just 'Summer-Winter' seasons but holiday periods. For instance, early in December room rates can be 10 to 25% lower than they are as Christmas approaches. If you are on a tight budget and have some control over the dates of your visit, try several dates to find the one most attractive in cost. One final dig (sorry): almost all hotels have special fees which they drop on you at checkout. OSome are called 'taxes', some are called 'amenity fees' - they have a host of names for these fees. Typically, these fees can run from 10 to 20% of the room rate. So include these expectations in your budget. A trip to Disney World doesn't have to be super expensive but, whatever, be positive and enjoy yourself (and don't forget the Epcot Center). |

Columns
This column
indicates the hotel's stated attitude toward pets as guests. A 'YES' in
this column means that the hotel states that they accept pets.
Conditions and fees vary so check the 'fine print' before making the
reservation.
The approximate
distance in miles from the hotel
to Disney World. These are calculations using GPS data. Distances along
city streets will be somewhat different but this should give you a good
idea of the distances.
Discount Hotels near
offering 'fitness' or exercise facilities are
indicated with an F in this column. If the hotel also has a spa, it is
so indicated by an S in this column. Most hotels define a 'spa' as a
large hot tub with built in water jets. In a few cases, fitness
facilities and spas may be off-premises (entry by pass issued by the
hotel) in which case dressing rooms are also present for your
convenience.
Discount Hotels near
offering a full kitchen or 'kitchenette' are indicated with an
'K' in this column. An 'M' in this column indicates microwave available. If the
room also has a refrigerator, it is so indicated by an 'R' in this column.
Many hotels have some rooms furnished with microwaves and small
refrigerators but you have to request them. We list them only if there
is not an additional charge (or so they have informed us).
Discount Hotels near
Disney World offering Internet access are indicated (with an M for
dial-up and W for
wideband) in the I'net column. Please note that 'wideband' facilities
vary. In addition to a network port (usually installed in the docking
station), we suggest you bring along cables and your Windows
distribution CD (in case you are required to load a special network
driver). For 'dial up dataports', you would only need a modem and an
RJ-11 patch cord (which you should always have with you, anyway).
In the
Kissimmee area we have included an additional column:
'VAN'. This indicates those hotels stating they offer FREE van service to Disney World
(and, frequently, other theme parks in the area). Others offering Van
service at a nominal charge are indicated by the '$" symbol. To
check rates, amenities or make hotel reservations, just click on the
hotel name.
